LiftMaster 3800 is the simplest garage door opener that I even have ever owned. Works quitely and was straightforward to put in Tell Jay that it works simply in addition as he said it might. Due to a low ceiling we had been looking for a jackshaft garage door opener like this one. We were told we were the first on the west coast to receive one after a year of east coast testing. The shipped it to our installer after two years a phone calls to Liftmaster…
LiftMaster 3800 was worth the wait. LiftMaster 3800 has worked flawlessly since the day it was installed. Better performance and quality then the alternatives I looked at, including overhead and the one Wayne Dalton side mount which was have quality issues.
This LiftMaster 3800 is simple to put in, and works perfectly, a number of the issues I even have seen within the reviews never materialized, like with the cable tension monitor.installed as per directions, and it worked perfectly, and concerning raising the door the whole high and not having the ability to bring it backtrack. My door is 10X16 insulated door and selecting it up the whole method and then closing isn’t any drawback the least bit. I put in the door and therefore the opener myself, the opener took but a pair of hours from begin to complete to put in. it’s thus quiet I couldn’t believe how swish and quiet it absolutely was. The sole negative i might realize is that the door is either up or down you’ll be able to not stop the door where you would like. besides this this can be a high quality opener and would purchase another one while not question.
I had two major requirements for a replacement garage door opener. 1)LiftMaster 3800 had to be quiet in operation due to two bedrooms located above the garage and 2)It had to fit in a very limited space due to a beam running across the ceiling. The Liftmaster 3800 fit the bill. There were other GDOs I saw that claimed to be quiet but were more expensive and the rail could not be be altered to fit. It took me a while to install the 3800 but it was worth it, as I also ordered the back up battery and the alternate power source due to not having a AC outlet near where I installed the GDO. The alternate power source saved me some money in having to hire an electrician to run a new outlet which would have to run metal tubing across the ceiling and a side wall. The only noise you hear from the GDO is a low humm when it starts and stops, and of course whatever noise the door itself makes. What a difference in noise levels! There are a lot of acessories you can get on Amazon.com at a great price that make this unit a contender with the more expensive units with the bells and whistles! The Liftmaster 3800 does not work with vehicles that have Homelink and extra remotes must be the Liftmaster brand that are specifically listed to work with the 3800 due to the rolling security codes. You can find them here on Amazon.com at great prices.
I have a awfully low garage celing that may not permit a track drive opener. one amongst my doors already had an industrial jack drive opener, put in by the previous owner. That LiftMaster 3800 has exposed gears and chains and a pressure unleash system additionally to the ground sensors. I required another door opener however did not need something just like the one I already had. Then I found this LiftMaster 3800 Residential opener. I couldn’t be happier!!! I put in it myself, that was terribly straightforward to try and do. simply attach the collar to the motor unit and then to the door bar. that is all there’s to it. Attach the management and sensor wires and your able to go. Even the ground sensors simply clip onto the tracks, that may be a nice style. terribly QUIET operation that is admittedly nice late at the hours of darkness. the automated lightweight when stepping a the dark garage from the home is another nice feature. Then there’s the ability lock. Wow, they very thought of everything on this opener. Jay Leno has this model on his garage doors to safeguard his automobile assortment. there’s a video on-line with Jay.
LiftMaster 3800, Great door opener, smooth, quiet,no jerks. I had an I drive that I thought nothing could beat it but this one out does my old one hands down. We had to have this unit since we have a odd garage roof, but this took up little room, and mounts out of the way. I looked at every garage door opener and decided on this one. Amazon had a great price making this one as cheap as lesser models. If you need an opener that must mount close to the door, get this one, truly sweet.
I was worried concerning some buyer comments concerning the dearth downward pressure of the door itself when closing, that the motor wouldn’t pull the door down. My door, when open, lays nearly completly flat overhead. The directions tell you that you just have cycle the door a few of times therefore the motor will learn the downward pressure required. the primary time closing it struggled to shut, then the second time LiftMaster 3800 went right down with no issues.
I would advocate this opener, over an overhead track drive system to anyone. nice LiftMaster 3800!!!
